Description
This dazzling engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a six prong setting atop a split platinum shank, accented with bright cut set diamonds and milgrain beading. It was created as a custom piece for a client, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to get the custom design process under way.

After viewing several sample designs, she settled on the ring she wanted to customize, and our team incorporated her desired changes into the CAD models we then shared with her online. She requested a few more adjustments after seeing these models, and once we’d implemented those, she came in again to view a wax model before giving her final approval to move her piece into production. Center Setting
At the top of this ring, a 1.01 carat round brilliant cut diamond is displayed beautifully in a six prong platinum setting. Each of the prongs holding the diamond are formed from the union of two ends of the U shapes that repeat all the way around the basket below the center stone. The bottom of the U’s rest on a band of metal that lies on its side at the top of the ring, connecting the two sides of the band, and this forms a pedestal at the base of the center setting. Diamond and Milgrain Accents
Round bright cut set diamonds run up both shank shoulders in two rows continuing all the way up, with one row on each strand after the band splits close to the top. The fronts of the band are lined with bright cut set diamonds as well, and these taper moving away from the top in order to fit in the space available.
Bright cut set diamonds also run all the way around the ring at the base of the center setting, as well as along a second ring lower down. These bring a glamorous sparkle to the piece, and their placement helps unite the separate sections of the ring. To further this unifying effect, milgrain beading lines all diamond accents, as well as the U shapes on the sides of the main setting.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
