This dazzling engagement ring features a cushion cut diamond prong set in the center of a squared halo of bright cut set diamonds lined with milgrain, accented with additional diamonds and milgrain on the tapered white gold band. He found a ring on that visit that he liked, and so we put together a set of CAD proofs and shared them with him online. He was very happy with what he saw, and so he quickly approved the models so that the project could move into the production phase.
Center Diamond and Halo
The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.50 carat cushion cut diamond, and it’s held in place by four white gold prongs that rise nearly straight up from the inside corners of the surrounding halo. The center setting raises the larger diamond up significantly above the halo, allowing it to maintain a place of prominence, and also providing ample opportunity for the smaller diamonds in the halo to reflect light up onto the center from all sides. The halo is slightly more squared than the larger diamond, and that helps to give the piece a hint of art deco flair. Milgrain beading also runs along both the inner and outer margins of the halo, providing a nice frame for the smaller stones as well as a bit of vintage-inspired styling. Diamond Accents and Band Design
Round diamonds are bright cut set down the shank shoulders, and these taper as they move away from the center to follow the contours of the band. There are nine accent stones on each side, forming a line that stops at just about the half-way mark. These are lined with milgrain beading as well, creating a nice link to the halo above.
A round diamond is bezel set on each ring front directly below the center setting, with a notch in that setting on one side to allow it to accommodate a matching wedding band. Whether you’re interested in having both rings in your wedding set made at once or not, it’s helpful to think about the kind of wedding band you’d like to have when designing your engagement ring to ensure that the styles are compatible and you can achieve the look you’re after in the end.

Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
