Description
This elegant engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond prong set at the top of a tapered platinum shank. It was created for a client from Marysville, WA, and it’s a wonderful example of a classic solitaire design. The client was particularly concerned with the thickness and width of the band, and so we grew a wax model that they viewed in our Bellevue, WA showroom before giving their approval to move the ring into production. Center Diamond
At the top of this ring is a 1.05 carat round brilliant cut diamond. It’s prong set in platinum, with the two prongs on the right and left rising directly up as an extension of the tapered shank below. The top and bottom prongs come out at right angles from the base of the main setting directly beneath the diamond, and they curve up around the edges of the stone to complete the frame. Tapered Band
The band is 2.8mm wide from the mid-point down, and it tapers moving up towards the top until it transitions smoothly into the prongs of the main setting. This was the specific width the client requested, as his fiancee preferred the look and feel of a heavy duty piece. He also specified the thickness he wanted, which is 2.3mm all the way around.
The way the band tapers smoothly into the main setting gives the piece a gentle grace and clean lines, which serve to keep the focus on the stunning diamond at the top. Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
