They began the custom design process by reaching out to us online and sharing their inspiration piece. They also already had the diamond they wanted to use, and so with these two details in place, we were able to design the perfect setting to highlight their stone’s natural beauty and match their vision perfectly.
Diamond Solitaire
The single diamond in this ring is an elongated emerald cut, which is what gives it its graceful, elegant shape. It’s 1.07 carats, and the half bezel setting it sits in frames its corners beautifully. The diamond is situated lengthwise along the band in an unconventional arrangement that helps give the ring its unique character. Solitaire Engagement Rings
A ring like this is considered a solitaire because it contains only one gemstone. This can be a diamond, although sapphires are often used as the centerpieces of engagement rings as well. Many options exist for the setting type and band style also, and these are all elements you can experiment with in order create your ideal piece.
Matching Wedding Sets
As we were developing the design of this ring, the clients inquired about how a straight wedding band would fit with it. They specifically wanted a straight band that could be worn on its own as well as paired with the engagement ring, and so we showed them several versions of the CAD to make clear how the two rings would line up. Matching Wedding Sets
The first was with our original design which had the center setting as low as possible to accommodate the height of the diamond. In the other, we had raised the setting in order to let the wedding band sit closer, although there was still a small space between them. In the end, the clients decided they liked the original and didn’t mind the slightly larger space, and at that point, they gave approval to move their pieces into production.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
