18k Rose Gold Custom Tanzanite And Diamond Engagement Ring
Item #103149 $4,653 Price does not include center stoneEngagement Ring Description
After removing the stones, we found that some of them were cubic zirconia, and so the client decided to have us source some diamonds for him rather than using the existing stones. We did still use the center tanzanite, however, and we built a beautiful design around it to highlight its wonderful color and exquisite proportions.
Tanzanite Center
The centerpiece of this ring is a 2.67 carat radiant cut tanzanite, and it’s compass set so that two of the corners are inline with the band while the other two occupy the north and south positions relative to it. This positioning is quite striking, and it helps draw attention to the elegant lines of the stone.
The tanzanite is double claw prong set in platinum, with each set of prongs coming up to curl over one corner. The prongs were one of the details that the client and designer spent the most time refining, and we sent several different versions until we’d properly captured the classical elegance of his vision. Diamond Accents
Ten round diamonds are bright cut set down each shank shoulder, and these bring a lovely contrast to the rich blue of the tanzanite at the top. They also help reinforce the classical themes of the piece, while the clean, polished lines of the band hint at some contemporary flair as well.
We supplied these diamonds, as the stones in his original ring that he thought were diamonds turned out not to be. We also adjusted the number of diamonds down a bit to stay within his budget while still capturing the look he was after.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
