Description
This gorgeous engagement ring features a round white sapphire in an ornate six-prong setting, accented by bright cut set diamonds and custom hand engraving on the white gold shank. It was created for a client from Latham, NY, who used the Ring Builder feature on our website to share his initial thoughts about the type of ring he wanted for his fiancee-to-be. After discussing some different design options with him, we found a combination of features that he liked, and we moved on to the CAD portion of the process. He was very happy with our first set of models, and he only requested a slight change to the structure of the center setting before giving his approval to move into production.
Center Setting
The round white sapphire at the center of this ring is 0.92 carats, and it’s cradled in a six-prong setting that rises directly out of the band. Each of these prongs is formed by two strands that curve away from and then towards each other, eventually meeting at the top of the sapphire. This gives the center setting a lovely floral quality that works perfectly with the organic design of the custom hand engraving on the shank below. Sapphire Engagement Rings
Diamond Accents and Hand Engraving
Round bright cut set diamonds run down both shank shoulders, with ten on each side arranged in a line that stops at about the mid-point on the band. These bring a beautiful sparkle as well as some classical flair to the design, and they help intensify the wonderful shine of the sapphire at the top. Unique Engagement Rings
An organic scroll pattern is hand-engraved on the top of the band below where the diamonds stop, and it covers both ring fronts as well. The hand engraving stops close to the bottom, where a blank area of metal forms a sizing bar to provide some flexibility should the ring need to be resized.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
