Diamond Solitaire
The lone diamond in this ring is one carat and round brilliant cut. It’s held in an asymmetrical tension setting that arises naturally from the wrapped split shank and that highlights the stone’s beautiful shape. The main part of the band runs across the top of the stone, while a smaller arm splits off from one shank shoulder to wrap around the bottom of the diamond. Diamond Engagement Rings
This creates a teardrop-shaped opening between the two portions of the band, and the diamond takes up most of that area. The remaining space between the strands is left open, an arrangement which allows more light to reach the diamond. This really helps the diamond stand out, while the tension setting keeps the profile of the ring low and the stone protected so as to minimize the risk of damage from everyday wear.
Shank Design
The band of this piece is flat and narrow at the bottom, and it maintains these dimensions most of the way up the sides. Just above the mid-point, however, it begins to widen and deepen, eventually extending down to cover the entire diamond on the fronts of the main setting. The entire band is made of polished 14k white gold, and its clean, elegant lines give the piece its lovely classical flair.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
