Description
The yellow sapphire has not historically enjoyed as much popularity as the more common blue variety, but it has been catching fire along with the rise of the canary yellow diamond. Combining greater affordability with excellent brilliance and durability, the yellow sapphire has been embraced as an ideal alternative to yellow diamonds. This ring was created for a client from right here in Washington, who wanted to recreate a Joseph Jewelry classic halo ring design with a split shank and a yellow center gemstone. With this model in mind, we encouraged the client to add a personal touch to his creation in order to make it unique to his bride to be. To this end, the client had us customize the design of the original shank to accommodate the shape and particularly large size of the yellow sapphire that was chosen. The final product is a one-of-a-kind piece of fine jewelry.
In a case like this one, our design team is able to build your ring with ideal proportions and show you how your finished product would look like with a 3D model before moving forward with production. You also have the option of requesting a render to see how the design will look on metal, with the gemstones. 3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
