Description

This engagement ring features an Asscher cut center stone framed in a bezel that follows the stone’s corners and straight edges with a clean, tailored outline. The Asscher cut is known for its square shape, deeply trimmed corners, and step-cut faceting, which creates a hall-of-mirrors effect rather than the splintered sparkle of a brilliant cut. That facet structure gives the stone a more architectural appearance, with broad flashes of light and a strong depth when viewed from above.

The center is set in a cathedral mounting, with the shank rising upward into a petite split at the shoulders before merging into the sides of the bezel. That transition gives the ring a more sculpted profile and helps support the center in a way that feels integrated rather than decorative. From the side, the split adds openness beneath the bezel, while the overall silhouette remains clean and controlled. Also, flush set within the bezel rim is a halo of diamond melees only visible from the sides. The bezel itself softens the geometry just enough to make the design feel refined, while still preserving the crisp personality of the Asscher cut.

What makes this ring especially compelling is the balance between structure and restraint. The Asscher cut already has a strong visual identity because of its symmetry, concentric facets, and distinctive corners, and the bezel setting reinforces that character rather than competing with it. Paired with the cathedral profile and split shank, the result is a ring that feels modern, composed, and quietly bold.

If you’re a fan of vintage style, we recommend adding milgrain beading to the metal rim outlining the center stone, and hand engraving detail to the shank for extra dimension and a lustrous appeal.

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Quality

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

Structure and support
The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
Diamond and gemstone selection
We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
Final inspection
Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
