After sharing his inspiration and style preferences with us, we provided him with some quotes and outlined the custom design process. He eventually decided to go with the combination of features and gemstones seen here, so we proceeded to create a CAD model for him of the piece we proposed to build. He quickly approved this as well, and we turned his project over to our expert artisans to begin production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Setting
At the center of this ring is a 2 carat round brilliant cut diamond. It’s prong set in palladium, and each of the prongs comes to a point after wrapping up around the edges of the stone. These are lined with milgrain beading as well, which ties in nicely with the vintage overtones found elsewhere in the piece. Vintage Engagement Rings
Diamond and Sapphire Accents
There is an emerald cut diamond on each shank shoulder, and these are prong set as well. Their rectangular shape contrasts nicely with the round diamond at the top, and they help ease the transition to the more squared elements in the band below.
Round bright cut set diamond accents line the fronts of the ring, as well as the prongs and cross bar in the main setting. Finally, baguette shaped blue sapphires are channel set down the middle of the shank shoulders, adding a burst of color and lining up nicely with the larger emerald cut diamonds at the top.
The placement of the sapphires and diamonds on the band was one of the major design decisions the client had to make, and with the help of our team, he was able to select the perfect combination of gemstones, as well as choosing the right shape and setting style to get the look he was after.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
