We worked with him extensively online, as well as in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom, to finalize the details of his ring and make sure everything was exactly the way he wanted it. After working through a few sets of design revisions, our client gave his approval to move the piece into production, and he was very happy with the ring we created.
Center Diamond
The main setting in this ring holds a 0.90 carat round brilliant cut diamond, whose shape is complemented nicely by the wrapped shape of the tension setting. This setting arises from two ends of the split shank as they move outward from the main part of the band to partly encircle the center stone. Diamond Engagement Rings
The arrangement of these ends leaves the setting open on two sides, which allows more of the diamond to be seen, and it also works well with the gently curving motion of the band itself to create a unified feel for the piece.
Accent Stones and Filigree
The split in the shank shoulders creates one smaller strand and one larger one. While the larger of the two goes on to create the main setting, the smaller continues on to meet the main stone lower down. The angle it comes in at gives the impression that it links up with the smaller strand from the other side of the band, and this generates a beautiful sense of continuity.
The space between the two sections of the split shank is filled with hand-made filigree that our client selected from another inspiration piece he found. A bezel set blue sapphire is embedded in the middle of this filigree on each side, and these stones had special meaning for our client as well.
Hand Engraving
Celtic knot designs are hand-engraved on the fronts of the ring all the way down to the three-quarter point, and they run along the top of the ring from this same spot until the point where the shank splits. Our client picked out the pattern used in this engraving, which also had personal significance as his girlfriend is of Irish descent and had spent time in the Emerald Isle, Ireland. Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
