He had a clear vision for his piece, and we quickly developed a model in CAD, which we shared with him through the online workroom we set up to manage his project. He requested a small change, and after clarifying a few other details, he gave his approval to move the project into production.
Center Setting and Halo
At the center of this ring, a 1.90 carat round brilliant cut diamond sits in a double talon prong setting made of platinum. The client provided this gorgeous stone, and its beauty is only enhanced by the halo of split prong set diamonds surrounding it. The halo style is an elegant, classical choice, and the use of the split prong setting to hold the smaller diamonds helps keep the amount of visible metal around them to a minimum. Band Design and Diamond Accents
Two rows of split prong set accent diamonds run up the sides of the shank from the three-quarter point all the way to the main setting. Close to the top, the band splits into two strands, each of which holds one row of accent diamonds, and these move gracefully away from each other to meet the halo right below where the prongs of the main setting sit. Below the diamond accents, the band tapers slightly to create a more comfortable fit across the bottom of the finger. Unique Engagement Rings
Custom Design Process
The only adjustment the client requested to our original models was adding a bit of an angle to the halo. Rather than having the stones here facing directly up, he asked for them to be angled just a bit to flow more smoothly with the curve of the band. Once we’d made that change, he was ready to have our expert artisans begin their work.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
