After that initial visit, they had a clear idea of the kind of design they wanted, and so they worked back and forth with our CAD designer online to finalize the details of the ring. To make sure everything was perfect, they came in again to see a wax model and to have her finger size double checked before giving approval to move everything into production.
Sapphire Center and Diamond Halo
At the top of this ring, a 1.45 carat, heart shaped pink sapphire sits in a three prong platinum setting. Although diamonds are likely the first stones that come to mind when you think of engagement rings, sapphires have long had a place in pieces like this as well. They are available in many different colors, and the rich pink tones of the sapphire in this ring, combined with its elegant shape, add an unmistakably romantic flair to the design. Surrounding this center is a halo of split prong set diamonds, and these bring a wonderful sparkle and contrast to the piece. They also send extra light up onto the sapphire in the center, helping to increase its gorgeous shine. Diamond Engagement Rings
Band Design and Diamond Accents
The band is made up of two twisted strands that are closely entwined most of the way around, separating significantly only as they near the center setting. The size of the opening here was the main modification the client requested after seeing our initial models, and it provides a nice transition from the narrow band to the wider center setting at the top.
There are also split prong set diamonds running along both strands of the split shank, starting at about the mid-point on one strand and at the spot above that where the two strands cross as well. This brings a glamorous flair to the design, and it also creates a link with the diamonds in the halo.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
