After an initial consultation in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom, we posted CAD images of the design we created for her online. She provided feedback on ways she wanted to tweak these, and we went through a few rounds of revisions before she decided it was perfect. We also grew several wax models at various stages in the custom design process so that she could come in and see physical representations of them to be sure every detail was exactly right.
Diamond Solitaire
The diamond solitaire is a classic choice for an engagement ring, and this one features a 1.21 carat round brilliant cut stone with dazzling fire. It’s prong set in platinum, and the minimal nature of the setting helps to highlight the diamond’s natural beauty. Diamond Engagement Rings
Particularly when you’re designing a solitaire engagement ring, it’s important that you love the diamond as much as you love the design itself. Our experts take care to source only the best quality gems available, and we can arrange for you to come in and take a look at several options if you’d like to approve your stone in person before we set it.
Tapered Band
The cathedral shank supporting the main diamond in this piece comes almost to a point where it meets the center setting. From there, it widens quickly, reaching its maximum width at about the one-quarter point. After this, it slowly tapers back down, creating smooth and graceful lines that complement the perfectly round diamond at the top nicely.
Most of the revisions the client requested during the design process centered on the shape and width of the band. She wanted to make sure the taper started in the right place, and that the width at the bottom was just right, and our skilled team was able to accommodate all of her requests.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
