Description

This stunning engagement ring features an Ideal Square diamond prong set atop a white gold shank that’s accented with bright cut set diamonds and milgrain beading. It was created for a couple from Issaquah, WA as part of a custom wedding set that also includes a wedding ring. The two designs share quite a few features, and this helps produce a stunning and unified display when they’re worn together. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Ideal Square Diamond

The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.62 carat Ideal Square diamond, and it’s cradled in a four prong setting that rises up smoothly from the shank below. The prongs wrap gently up over the clipped corners of the stone, helping to highlight its elegant shape and clean lines.

An Ideal Square diamond can take as much as three times longer to cut than a traditional square, but that added labor pays off in the stunning level of light reflection this type of cut achieves. It’s also the only kind of diamond that exhibits the Hearts and Arrows pattern created by the precise placement of the facets, and so using a stone like this can add a special layer of meaning to your piece as well. Diamond and Milgrain Accents

Round bright cut set diamonds run down the shank shoulders of this ring, and they continue all the way to the three-quarter point on the band. They’re lined with milgrain beading as well, which adds some vintage flair and a nice, finished quality to the piece. These details are present on the matching wedding band we made for this couple at the same time, making for a truly stunning presentation when the two are worn together. Matching Wedding Sets

The fronts of the ring also feature bright cut set diamonds, but these are smaller and individually set within a pattern of scalloped arcs that continues as far as the diamonds on the top. Our original models had both the larger accent diamonds and the pattern on the fronts stopping at the mid point, but the clients decided they wanted these features to continue farther down.

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Diamond and gemstone selection
We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
Final inspection
Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Customer reviews

I cannot say enough positive things about Joseph Jewelry.

Although everyone we encountered at Joseph was delightful to work with, Bonnie and Danny exceeded all of our expectations with respect to the end-to-end process. Joseph is a custom jeweler and their display pieces are unique and unlike anything we had seen previously. A truly individual ring was a must-have for my fiancée and Joseph could not have been better suited to our needs. After looking at so many similar-looking rings elsewhere, at Joseph, we were immediately struck by finding two different designs we liked with accompanying wedding bands. I preferred one and she the other, but that is the benefit of working with a custom jeweler--we were able to describe the aspects each of us liked about one design or the other. We worked closely with Bonnie through multiple design consults (mostly because we had endless questions) and she was always supremely gracious and took the time to make sure we were absolutely pleased with the melding of the two styles into one, truly unique hybrid. At Joseph, it's clear there is an emphasis on ensuring that the end result of these design consults, CAD proofs, and ultimately wax modeling is that you end up with the perfect ring.

It was also truly remarkable how flexible Joseph was with last-minute changes. We had worked with Danny on finding our center stone and discussing the brightset adorning the sides of both rings . He was knowledgeable and professional, patiently showing us different examples of center stones as well as providing quite an education on the 4 Cs of diamonds and how it would affect the final product. We felt very comfortable that we were getting the right balance of cost and value, not simply buying the most expensive stones we could afford. And at nearly the end of the process--design complete, model complete--we found that we wanted a larger center stone, it turned out to be no problem at all. Danny e-mailed 3 examples for us to choose from and had 2 delivered to the store in mere days. They didn't skip a beat where I thought this was going to have a lot of design implications and overhead.

Lastly, despite our repeated assurances to Joseph that we weren't in any rush as to the completion date, leave it to me to wait until the 11th hour to ask if it would possibly be ready in time for her birthday--as I recall, the delivery date was still some time away. I never heard a "no", not even a concerned, "hmm...." Instead, Bonnie got back to me within minutes (their online messaging system is really awesome) saying that it would be no problem. Delivery was a breeze and they clearly stand behind their product, asking that the rings be brought in twice yearly for cleaning and inspection. Having that kind of peace of mind with such a large and important purchase is and was a real relief for both of us.

I have already referred multiple friends to Joseph and would not hesitate to work with them again in the future. Every time my fiancée gets oohs and aahs from friends, coworkers, heck, even random strangers on the rings, I'll think fondly on just what a wonderful experience it was working with Joseph Jewelry to realize the design of her dreams.
