Following our initial meeting with him in our Bellevue, WA showroom, we posted some CAD images online for him to review. He requested a few minor adjustments, and once we’d made those, he came in to see a wax model of the piece before approving it to move into production.
Center Setting
At the center of this ring, a 1.99 carat round brilliant cut diamond that the client provided is cradled in four platinum prongs. These rise up individually from the band below, and this was a detail the client specifically requested. Our initial design had all prongs meeting below the diamond at a single point of origin, but he liked the open side view created by having them separated at the bottom. One of a Kind Engagement Rings
Diamond Accents
A narrow bar runs around the center diamond in the gallery, and it’s placed down low enough that it’s not visible from the top-down view. This holds small round bright cut set diamond accents that add a lovely surprise sparkle to the piece for an extra glamorous flair.
The straight, narrow band is also split prong set with round accent diamonds down to the three-quarter point. Their lovely sparkle helps to enhance the brilliance of the large diamond at the top, and they echo its shape as well, bringing a nice balance to the piece as a whole.
Matching Wedding Sets
One concern we discussed with the client during the custom design process for this ring was the type of wedding band that would ultimately go with it. Initially, he had said he wanted a straight band that could sit flush with the engagement ring, which would not be possible with the modifications he requested to the prong alignment in the center setting. After giving it some thought, he decided that a contoured band would be perfect, and so we were able to accommodate the gallery design he preferred.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
