Description

This lovely engagement ring features a three-stone setting made up of a center diamond flanked by round blue sapphires. It was created as a custom piece for a client from Redmond, WA, who saw a ring in our Bellevue, WA showroom that he liked, and then worked online with our design team to personalize it until it was exactly what he wanted.

Three-stone Setting

Traditional engagement rings often include a round brilliant cut diamond, and this design works that in while also incorporating a few variations. The diamond in the center of the three-stone setting is round brilliant cut, and it comes it at just over half a carat. Round blue sapphires sit on either side of this main stone, and all three gems are displayed beautifully in four-prong platinum settings. Diamond Engagement Rings

The combination of diamonds and sapphires produces a nice contrast, and the sapphires in particular add just the right amount of color. And while diamonds are the gems most readily associated with wedding and engagement rings, sapphires have a long tradition in this role as well.

Tapered Shank and Accents

The cathedral shank of this ring tapers as it nears the center setting, adding a nice layer to the design. This detail is reinforced by the addition of a row of bright cut set accent diamonds running up the shoulders of the shank.

And as a final accent, a delicate swirl filigree sits below the tapered part of the shank just before the cathedral shoulders reach the sides of the center setting. This ties in nicely with the way the prongs holding the main stones rise up from below, and it was an element that the client specifically requested be inserted into his design after viewing our first round of 3D proofs.

Customization

If you’d like to use this design and add your own personal touch, our expert team is here to help, and there are many options to consider. For instance, you could use different gemstones to replace all or some of the diamonds, and you could change the shape of the filigree to something with special meaning for you. But no matter what you want, we’ll work closely with you every step of the way to ensure that you’re completely satisfied with the piece we make for you.

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
