Three-stone Setting
The centerpiece of this ring is a one carat round brilliant cut diamond, and it’s perched at the top of a trellis setting that also holds the two smaller round diamonds that complete the three-stone setting. The setting is referred to as a trellis because of the way the prongs cross over each other below the stones on the ring fronts, creating an interwoven pattern that gives the piece a somewhat whimsical property. This style brings with it some classical overtones, although the relatively straight lines the prongs follow on their way to the top belie the overall contemporary feel of the design.
Band Design and Diamond Accents
This ring also features a Euroshank, which is marked by the slight squaring of the lower portion of the band. The shallow corners created here help to balance out the large center setting, and they keep the ring from spinning on the finger.
