Description
This gorgeous engagement ring features a cushion cut blue-green sapphire bezel set at the top, with French cut set diamond accents on the tapered rose gold band below. It was created for a client from Sammamish, WA, who began the custom design process by visiting our Bellevue, WA showroom in person. On this visit, he saw several sample pieces that he liked, and we combined his preferred features into a unique piece, the digital models of which we shared with him through the online workroom we set up to manage his project. Sapphire Center
The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.48 carat elongated cushion cut sapphire with a lovely blue-green color. It’s oriented lengthwise across the band so that it sits inline with the finger when worn. This positioning works well with the tapering design of the band to bring a nice balance to the design, and the bezel setting holding the sapphire is lined with a double row of milgrain beading for some added vintage flair. Diamond and Filigree Accents
There are 22 accent diamonds in all in this ring, and they’re French cut set down the shank shoulders, with 11 on each side. All together, these stones total 0.17 carats, and they taper in size along with the band, gradually getting smaller as they move away from the center. The client was unsure initially about what setting style to use for these accents, and so we adjusted the CAD models to reflect various options so he could make an informed decision.
The sides of the center setting hold a decorative filigree inlay in a whimsical scroll pattern that continues all the way around the main setting. Our original models had this area as solid metal, but the client asked to see what filigree would look like in the space. After examining a filigree version, he liked the effect but was unsure about the openness of the style, and so we created this in-between version to give him precisely the look he was after.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
