This glamorous engagement ring features a radiant cut blue sapphire prong set in platinum, with two princess cut diamonds tension set on either side, and diamond and filigree accents on the band. It was created for a client from Redmond, WA, and we can make one much like it for you, or we can work with you to customize it until it perfectly matches your ideal.

Three-stone Setting
The main setting in this ring is made up of a 2.74 carat radiant cut blue sapphire and two princess cut diamonds. Taken together, the diamonds total 0.37 carats, and they’re tension set significantly below the larger center stone. Their squared shape complements the sapphire’s radiant cut nicely, and the brilliant white of the diamonds provides a perfect counterpoint to the rich blue above.
While diamonds are the stones most commonly thought of as the centerpiece of an engagement ring, sapphires can ably fill this role as well. They’re nearly as hard as diamonds, making them able to handle the rigors of daily wear with ease, and they come in a wide selection of colors. This makes them a great option if you want to add some color to your ring, and using diamonds elsewhere in the design lets you still maintain that connection to the traditional. Diamond Accents
The split shank of this piece is lined with round bright cut set diamonds from the mid-point on the band all the way up to the main setting. The split begins just where the diamonds do, half-way up the side, and the two pieces slowly diverge, eventually widening just enough to run along either side of the princess cut diamonds in the main setting.
Hand-cut Filigree
A beautiful filigree heart fills the space between the base of the prongs that rise up to form the setting holding the center sapphire. On the outside of the prongs, the fronts of the shank shoulders feature a cut-out filigree pattern specially requested by our client.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
