Description
A client from Maryland approached Joseph Jewelry to create this custom engagement ring. He needed a ring that would hold a precious heirloom diamond that had been passed on from generation to generation in his family. Working closely with our jewelers, he had us combine design elements from different ring styles to create something truly unique for his bride-to-be.

What you see here is a set of interlocking rings, one representing the engagement ring and the other serving as the wedding band. The engagement ring holds the client’s heirloom diamond in a four prong setting, which holds the stone up relatively high so as to show off as much of this exceptional gem as possible. The prongs and shoulders of the shank are set with a series of round brilliant cut diamonds that taper in size. Hidden within the filigree cathedral is a pair of blue sapphires in bezel settings.
The wedding band features a line of shared prong set round diamonds that run halfway down each side of the ring. Like the engagement ring, the shank is crafted out of 14 karat white gold. Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
