Description
This stunning engagement ring features an oval blue sapphire flanked by brilliant cut diamonds, all set atop an ornate white gold shank. It was created for a client from Everett, WA, who came to us with some ideas about what he wanted included in the ring. Our design team worked with him both online and on site in our Bellevue, WA showroom, eventually combining the features he chose to produce this beautiful piece.

Three-stone Setting
The main setting of this ring is dominated by a gorgeous oval shaped blue sapphire with a deep, rich color. This contrasts wonderfully with the sparkling white of the two side stones, which are round brilliant cut diamonds that sit slightly lower than the main stone.
From this position, they help reflect additional light up onto the sapphire to intensify its sparkle, and they also shine beautifully in their own right. All three of the gems are held in place with rounded prongs made of 14k white gold, which rise up in a criss-cross pattern from the band below.
Diamond and Milgrain Accents
In addition to the larger stones in the main setting, this ring also includes some smaller diamond accents in the form of bright cut set diamonds running down the shoulders of the shank. These are lined with a delicate milgrain beading, and that helps to give the piece a bit of vintage flair while also adding to its overall sparkle.
The milgrain continues down the edges of the shank as well, bordering the custom engraving included there and working to tie all design elements together nicely. However, if you like this design but want something with a more contemporary feel, removing the milgrain is a good step to get closer to that type of look.
Custom Engraving
The majority of this ring’s shank is covered in a lovely custom hand engraving, the pattern for which our client specifically picked out from the samples we provided. This detail is added as the final step in the ring production process, as it is completed by our skilled artisans under a microscope.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
