At the top of this ring, a 0.50 carat radiant cut diamond is cradled in four platinum chevron prongs, and these highlight its perfectly square shape nicely. The prongs form out of the outer strands of the split shank, as two rise up from each side of the band. These strands are square as well, keeping the theme consistent and echoing the clean lines of the center diamond. Diamond Engagement Rings
Diamond and Sapphire Accents
Between the two outer strands of the split shank, a third continues along the original curvature of the ring, passing directly beneath the center diamond to meet its counterpart from the other side. This bridge piece is lined with round diamonds and blue sapphires split prong set in an alternating pattern that brings a lovely contrast and intricacy to the design.
The most obvious contrast comes from the rich blue color of the sapphires, of course, but the round shape of both types of accent stones creates a secondary contrast with the shape of the larger diamond above.
