Blue Diamond Solitaire
Diamonds are a traditional choice for engagement rings in particular due to the way they represent romantic love and unparalleled beauty. The use of a blue diamond here both brings some color to the ring and adds another layer of meaning, as blue diamonds are associated with passion and energy. Diamond Engagement Rings
The cool blue color of the stone contrasts beautifully with the white gold used in the band, and the modified bezel tension setting really lets the stone shine from all angles, while also complementing its shape nicely.
Split Shank
The shank design was the client’s main focus during the design process, as it was very important to him that we get the look just right. He was inspired by our original design #1305, but he wanted to replace the swirl filigree in that ring with bars to make the band look more like a twisted fragment of DNA.
After exploring several possibilities, he and the design team settled on the arrangement of bars seen here, and the split ends of the shank also continue up to cradle the center stone, which serves to tie all design elements together.
Custom Design
Although our client couldn't come visit us in person at our Bellevue, WA location, we put together a ring he was completely satisfied with thanks to the wonderful professional designers and artisans we have on staff and the technological tools we use for all custom orders. These allowed him to adjust the design of his ring until it was exactly right, and we could put it into production knowing that he would be completely satisfied with the result.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
