After that initial meeting, we posted CAD renderings of the design we came up with for him online, and he was very happy with the way they turned out. He did come in again to view a wax model just to be sure everything was perfect, as well as to pick out the particular center stone he wanted to use. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Blue Zircon
The lone gemstone in this ring is a 1.42 carat round blue zircon, and it sits comfortably in a four prong setting that arises naturally from the split strands of the shank below. These cross over each other directly below the center setting, adding a graceful touch that flows perfectly with the intricate patterns on the rest of the band.
Band Design and Custom Filigree
The entire band is tapered, with the center setting being the widest point and the very bottom of the ring the narrowest. A split occurs about half-way up each side, and the two strands that form continue up to integrate into the main setting.
The space between the two split strands is filled with an organic custom filigree made up of curling vine and leaf shapes. These are also present on a smaller scale on the fronts of the ring below the shank shoulders in a space that opens up due to a secondary split closer to the top. All of this is tied together by the elegant filigree scrolls that sit directly below the center setting, and each of these filigree pieces was hand-made by our expert artisans.
Hand Engraving and Milgrain
To complement the filigree, a scroll pattern of custom hand engraving covers the top and fronts of the ring, starting just below where the filigree stops and continuing all the way down almost to the bottom. As a finishing touch, both the filigree and the hand engraving are lined with milgrain beading for a hint of vintage flair. Vintage Engagement Rings

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
