Custom Solitaire Diamond Engagement Ring

Center Diamond
The round brilliant cut solitaire diamond in this ring is 1.18 carats, and it is held in a tension setting that arises naturally from the wrapped 14k white gold shank. The lines of the setting follow the curves of the diamond exactly, helping to highlight is perfect shape. These stop about two-thirds of the way around on both the top and bottom, providing for a wonderful view of the full stone from the sides. Diamond Engagement Rings
The client provided this diamond for us to set, and that helped bring special meaning to the piece as well. Using an existing stone from an old ring, or even one that you have loose, is a great way to add special significance to a ring like this, and we can build your custom design around any type or cut of gemstone you would like.
Split Wrapped Shank
The shank itself splits at about the three-quarter spot on the band, and the two sides move away from each other to create a large open space on the sides of the ring. This is filled with a swirling white gold filigree that includes a fanciful X shape in the middle and scrolls on either side.
It was especially important to the client that we get the X exactly right, and we modified our design until it met with her approval. An X shape was also included in the men’s band we made at the same time, and while the execution of each was quite different, the symbolism they carried created a special link between the pieces.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
