Description
This elegant engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond at the center of a three-stone setting, with pear shaped diamonds on either side atop a knife edge platinum shank. It was created for a client from Redmond, WA, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom with a good idea about the type of ring he wanted for his fiancee-to-be.

We took the information he provided initially and used it to make a 3D model of the unique design we proposed to build for him. After a few rounds of revisions, he decided he was happy with what he saw, and he gave us approval to move the piece into production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Three-stone Setting
The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.90 carat round brilliant cut diamond. It’s prong set in platinum, and the prongs themselves arise naturally from the trellis shank below. On each side of this center diamond, a pear shaped diamond is also prong set, with the pointed ends facing away from the center. This arrangement offers a nice transition point when moving from the completely rounded center stone down to the knife edge of the shank, as the pear shaped stones reflect elements of both features. Knife Edge Shank
The shank of this ring is widest at the bottom, and it tapers as it nears the center setting, eventually narrowing only to the width of the prong holding the ends of the side diamonds. On the fronts of the ring below the diamonds, an elegant criss-cross design arises naturally from the underside of the band, giving the center setting a sweeping grace and some classical flair that works well with the other design elements present. The band itself also features a knife edge, which means that, rather than being rounded, it forms a ridge in the middle of the shank all the way around. This is another subtle design touch, but it adds a great deal to the overall look and feel of the piece, and it was one of the elements the client knew he wanted from the beginning.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
