Description

This stunning engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond solitaire, accented with bright cut set diamonds and custom metalwork. It was created for a client from California, who found our design #101989 online and wanted to personalize it and also create a custom wedding band to match.

Read the full description

Although he couldn't visit our our Bellevue, WA showroom, our online creation process set him at ease, and he was completely satisfied with the pieces we created. He also wanted to incorporate diamonds from rings that had been in both his and his fiancee’s families, and we were able to do that as well.

Center Setting

This ring keeps with tradition in using a round brilliant cut diamond as its centerpiece. The stone seen here is a 0.42 carat round brilliant cut diamond that we took from one of the rings he provided. It’s held securely in a four prong setting atop a cathedral shank, and on each side of the center diamond are leaf designs that each contain two smaller diamonds taken from those family rings as well. Accents and Metalwork

Delicate milgrain beading lines the leaf shapes on the shoulders of the shank and continues down nearly to the bottom of the band. This detail gives the ring a wonderful vintage flair, which ties in nicely with the use of family stones to reinforce the sense of history contained here.

Covering the lower part of the band is custom engraving, which our skilled artisans completed by hand as the last step in the production process. And to round out the design, custom filigree in a scroll pattern fills in the spaces below the center setting.

Family Stones

Using family gemstones is a great way to add personal significance to your engagement ring or other piece of custom jewelry. Our designers will take a look at what you have and create a design that incorporates as many of your stones as possible, while still keeping the look you’re going for and maintaining the overall integrity of the design. Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
