Emerald Gem in a Cushion Halo Setting
The emerald gemstone is sought after thanks to its relative rarity and unique green color and rates a 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs hardness scale.
The center stone in this design sits on a cushion halo surrounded by diamond melees all around, giving the emerald a larger appearance. This type of halo when matched with a round center stone adds angles and curves which bring balance into the overall ring’s look. Halo Engagement Rings
Rather than simply contouring the round emerald with a round halo, the integration of this cushion form enhances the design and offers it extra sophistication.
The diamond melees lining the halo are bright cut set and give the feel of extending to the shank shoulders. The diamonds along the shank are connected through split prongs which provide intricate detail to the band.
Filigree and Peek-a-boo Diamond
The center gemstone is held by four button prongs and nesting in the halo which is supported by a cathedral style. Since this ring gives the feel of an antique look, what is better than filigree to complement it! Those decorative thin strands of wire are bent to form immaculate flow of curves and bends. For an extra surprise effect, peek-a-boo diamonds are placed under the halo and between the filigree.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
