Description

This dazzling custom engagement ring features a round red garnet surrounded by a starburst cluster diamond halo, all atop a yellow gold criss-cross band with diamonds. It was created for a client from Redmond, WA, and would be a beautiful piece to customize. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

To begin the custom design process, you can start a few different ways. You can customize an existing piece, start completely from scratch, or combine a few different rings as this client did. This ring is a combination of this halo and this shank and is a beautiful blend of the two.

Garnet Center

The centerpiece of this ring is a round Mozambique garnet. It is a deep, dark red, which is a classic hue for garnets. Garnets are the birthstone of January, and customizing this piece with a different birthstone would certainly be possible. Halo Engagement Rings

Color gemstones are available in many different sizes, shapes, and colors. If you're looking for a brighter red color, ruby would be a great choice. Additionally, garnets are available in yellow, orange, pink, and green, if you want to keep the significance of garnet but might be interested in alternative shades.

Halo and Shank Design

The yellow gold of this ring perfectly matches the warmth of the garnet, while the halo serves to highlight the center, as well. The halo is cluster set, meaning some of the stones share prongs and the diamonds are different sizes in the halo. The entire halo and center are fairly low profile.

The band of the ring is crisscrossed strands of metal and diamonds weaving down to the bottom of the ring. Initially, the client wanted to see a few different versions of the band, and after viewing it with no stones, and then one strand with stones, they decided on diamonds on both strands.

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
