Description
This lovely engagement ring features a round blue zircon in the center, accented with diamonds running down both shank shoulders, and all set in white gold. It was created for a client from Kirkland, WA, who provided all of the stones and asked us to build a perfect piece to hold them. We worked with her both in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom and online to finalize the details of her piece and ensure everything was just as she envisioned.

Zircon Center
The stone that sits atop this ring is a round blue zircon with a gentle blue-green color reminiscent of the sea. Its sparkle shines through from all angles thanks to the openness of the four-prong setting holding it in place, and the contours of the prongs follow the lines of the stone exactly, accentuating its natural beauty and giving the piece a nice overall balance.
After the client brought us this stone, we sent it out to be recut and polished so that it would look just beautiful in its new setting. If you have some old gemstones that you’d like to use again but that don’t look their best anymore, this is a great way to refresh them and give them new life, and we can take care of the entire process for you.
Accent Diamonds
Round split prong set diamonds run down both shank shoulders, stopping at the mid-way point of the band. These add substantial sparkle to the piece, and they also contrast nicely with the blue of the zircon, helping it to stand out.
Including diamonds in this ring let the client tie in these traditional engagement ring stones without using one as the centerpiece. It’s a nice way to give a not to convention while still creating a unique piece, and it presents the opportunity to tie in the overtones of unparalleled beauty and romantic love that diamonds evoke.
Starting with Stones
There are several ways to start designing your own custom engagement ring or other piece of fine jewelry, including starting with existing stones. If you do have some family gemstones that you’d like to use, our team can expertly customize a design around them and then present it to you for your critique.
For any custom project we take on, we’ll adjust the design as many times as necessary in order to get it exactly right for you. And we won’t send anything into production until you’re sure the piece we’ve outlined is just what you’ve always been dreaming of.

Customize
Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.
Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.
Design and estimate
The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.
3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
