You can get the custom design process started by visiting our Bellevue, WA showroom in person, or by reaching out to us online. Our experts will learn all they can about your style and feature preferences before developing a unique design for you to review through the online workroom we set up to manage your project. You can request as many revisions to these models as necessary to make sure every detail is perfect, and we won’t proceed to the production phase of the project until you give your explicit approval for us to do so. Center Setting
The main gemstone in this ring is a 1.25 carat round brilliant cut diamond. It sits high above the band in a four prong setting made of 14k white gold, and the path the prongs take from the crown of the diamond down to the band helps to highlight the stone’s gorgeous lines.
The prongs in this setting are arranged with two on each side, one of these above the band and one of them below. However, if you wanted to introduce a bit of movement into the piece, you could turn the center so that the prongs sit at the compass positions instead. This would give the main diamond a bit of a star-like quality as well, and it would significantly alter the appearance of the design while keeping all of the major elements intact. Diamond Accents
There are 10 accent diamonds total in this ring, and they’re split into two groups of five, with each group running down one of the shank shoulders on either side of the center setting. These 10 diamonds combine to weigh 0.38 carats, and they’re all shared prong set to give the piece a lovely classical flair.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
