One of the most important aspects of this project was picking the right center stone, and we coordinated back and forth with our clients before we settled on the beautiful sapphire seen here. Although they were never able to visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, our online design process and the high-tech tools we have at our disposal ensured that the piece we produced for them was exactly what they wanted.
Sapphire and Diamonds
The main stone in this ring is a 3.32 carat round sapphire with a rich green color. This contrasts beautifully with the 14k yellow gold that makes up the body of the ring, as well as with the brilliant white of the diamonds tucked on each side. The bezel setting frames the stone beautifully, and it keeps it well-protected from the rigors of everyday wear and tear. Sapphire Engagement Rings
The accent diamonds are also round and bezel set, and they’re tucked significantly below the center setting, with one on each side. From this position, they are able to add beautiful sparkle to the design while not overshadowing the sapphire. They also bring a new layer of contrast to the design, and this gives the ring a nice balanced feel.
Band Design
The band itself is flat and relatively wide, with the center setting essentially filling a break between the two sides of the shank. The round diamonds meet the edge of the band first, and their contrasting shapes creates an interesting link between the squared contours of both the band and the setting surrounding the sapphire.
The finish on the ring was another element the clients were very concerned with, and we discussed a few options with them before settling on the sandblasted textured finish seen here. This gives the ring a unique texture, while still keeping the interior smooth and polished for a comfortable fit.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
