Engraved Hematite
This ring centers around a beautiful black hematite that’s bezel set in white gold. It features an engraved profile of an ancient soldier in a minimalist style, which is a figure that had special meaning to our client. Because we complete all custom engraving in-house, we can customize this aspect of the ring to include just about any type or style of design you choose.
Band Design
The band of this ring is made of 14k white gold, and it widens as it reaches the top to accommodate the size of the hematite center. This is the customary shape for a ring of this kind, and the band is further accented with three ridges of metal that run all the way around and widen with it as it nears the hematite.
There are also horizontal ridges that wrap around the top of the ring, giving it a squared, terraced look when viewed from the top. These accentuate the masculine characteristics of the ring, and they provide a nice overall balance.

Design and estimate
The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.
3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.

I'd like to highly recommend the excellent customer service and custom jewelry design services of Joseph's Jewelers in Bellevue. I collect antique mens carved intaglio stones and worked with their designer Ryan to create a custom setting. Ryan met with me on several occasions to understand my sketches and examples of other settings I liked and give me a tour of their on-site fabrication facility. He very professionally incorporated all of the design elements I presented and rendered some awesome 3D computer images of what the final ring would look like. He also performed several design revisions (at no charge) so the ring would be exactly how I wanted it. Their digital wax printing and casting processes are state of the art. After having worked with various jewelers across the country I can say the team at Joseph's is great!
