In order to make sure the piece we produced was exactly what our client was looking for, we shared various 3D models with our client in the online workroom we created for the project, and once we had a version he was happy with, he came in to see a wax mold before giving his final approval to move the ring into production. Two-tone Band
This piece is a study in contrasts, with the most obvious being between the wider platinum base and the yellow gold center. The middle section is also slightly higher, although the edges slope down so that they’re flush with the platinum rails when the two come together. The rails also slope downward slightly in order to stay consistent with the domed profile of the band.
Contrasting Finishes
The different sections of this ring also feature contrasting finishes, which work to further highlight their separation. The wonderful shine of the polished platinum rails serves as a strong counterpoint to the intricate texture of the brushed hammered finish on the yellow gold center.
Additional complexity is added through the use of milgrain beading along the border between the two metals. This brings some vintage flair to the piece as well, and it simultaneously unites the two sections while also making their boundaries clear.
Gypsy Set Diamond
The finishing touch on this ring is a 0.25 carat round brilliant cut diamond that’s gypsy set in the center of the yellow gold band. This diamond reaches nearly all the way across the center section, and it contrasts beautifully with the matte finish on the yellow gold for a truly eye-catching display.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
