Description
This custom men’s wedding band combines a flush set blue sapphire and ceramic relief engraving to create a truly eye-catching design. It was created as a custom order for a client who was deployed overseas and who wanted a truly special wedding band for her fiancee. We collaborated with her though our online workroom to make sure we had all of the special details she wanted to include exactly right, and both she and her fiancee were completely satisfied with the result.

Blue Sapphire
The blue sapphire in this ring is round and flush set, providing a nice level of sparkle without changing the profile of the ring at all. It was included to create a link between his band and hers, and the light blue color contrasts nicely with the polished platinum of the band.
While diamonds are often the first stones that come to mind when you’re thinking of engagement and wedding rings, sapphires have an established place in these pieces as well. They represent wisdom, purity, loyalty, and reliability, making them a great choice to add some underlying meaning to your rings.
Ceramic Relief Engraving
Perhaps the most exotic detail of this ring is the ceramic relief engraving, which appears in a tribal pattern around the entire circumference of the band. The use of this technique allowed our artisans to match the engraving to the blue of the sapphire, and the result is a truly exotic design.
The particular pattern used was something that held special meaning for the client, and because all of our engraving is carried out onsite in Bellevue, WA by our master craftsmen, we were able to reproduce it exactly. Adding detailing like this is a great way to include a design or pattern that has some personal significance for you and to make your ring truly unique.
Platinum Band
Platinum was the metal of choice for this band for several reasons, including its strength and resiliency. It also has a lovely silver color that won’t fade or change over time. That makes it a good option for a wedding or engagement ring since these are pieces you’re likely to wear every day. However, you could easily customize this design by switching to a warmer rose gold, or to a two-tone band for a more vintage look.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
