Description
This stylish men’s wedding ring features a hammered and slightly raised yellow gold middle section bordered by polished white gold rails. It was created for a client from Lake Oswego, OR, and we made both an engagement ring and wedding band for his fiancee at the same time. He had originally been thinking of just getting a plain flat band, but after seeing some sample pieces in our Bellevue, WA showroom, he fell in love with this design and had us customize it for him. Two-Tone Band and Contrasting Finishes
The center portion of this ring is made from 18k yellow gold, and its unique surface is created by the combination of a hammered and sandblasted finish. The hammering results in the irregular, undulating surface, and the sandblasting produces a granular matte effect that helps highlight the ridges and valleys all the way around the band.
On the outside, 18k white gold rails border the center section, and these are slightly domed to contrast with the straight lines of the middle’s margins. The rails feature a high polish finish that helps them stand out despite their relative narrowness, while also highlighting the way they contrast with the yellow gold center.
Utilizing two different color metals is a good way to bring some complexity to your design without making it too flashy. It’s a subtle and classy look that can be complemented by an array of finishes and other features, and our team will help you find just the right mix to get the look you’re after. Band Width Options
This band is 7mm wide, which is average for a men’s wedding ring. If you prefer something thinner or wider, however, we can absolutely adjust a design like this to accommodate you. The best way to determine your ideal width is to try on some rings, either in our showroom or at your local jewelry store. That way, you can see what each feels like on your finger, which can help you to make a more informed decision.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.
Design and estimate
The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
