Two-tone Band
The main portion of this ring is 14k gold and 7mm wide. It features a brushed finish that gives it a soft glow, and this contrasts beautifully with the silvery white of the polished platinum strip running all the way around in the center of the band.
This design was inspired by one of our custom previous pieces, which the clients found on our website. In addition to making it two-tone, they also asked that we raise the center strip rather than indenting it. These small changes created a very different look for the piece, and it turned out to be exactly what the clients were looking for. Men’s Wedding Rings Seattle
Contrasting Finishes
In order to highlight the difference between the separate sections of this ring, the clients asked to have the center platinum band polished to contrast with the main yellow gold portion, which was brushed. This makes the difference in color more dramatic by brightening the platinum while the warm tones of the yellow gold are emphasized by the matte finish.
Of course, you could also choose to go with all one type of finish if you were customizing this particular design. Or you could switch the placement of the brushed and polished finish to draw out different visual aspects of each metal. After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
