Choosing a Metal
When you want to create a custom wedding ring, one of the first things you’ll have to decide is what type of metal you’d like to use. White gold, which this ring is made from, is a popular choice for its color, although it does have to be re-plated from time to time. If you’re looking for a white metal that won’t require this type of care, platinum or palladium are worth considering.
Colored metals like yellow or rose gold are also good choices, as they can help create a more classical or vintage look. Or you can use one of these colored metals in combination with white gold or platinum to create a distinct two-tone design.
Design Decisions
Men’s wedding bands come in either a flat or rounded style. This custom ring is a flat band, and you can see an example of a more rounded design in ring #102006. Both styles can support the addition of other custom details like etching and stone setting, but certain features may work better on one style than the other, and our design experts will help you find the right combination to achieve the look you’re after.
The width of the band is another detail to take into consideration, as there can be considerable variation here as well. The best way to make this decision may be to visit a store to try on bands of different widths to see which is the most comfortable for you.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
