Although she never came into our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, our team stayed in close communication with her throughout the custom design process thanks to the online workroom we created for the project. This is where we shared our initial sketches with her, as well as high-quality CAD models of her piece, so she could make sure we had fully captured her vision before giving her approval to put the ring into production.
Black Diamonds and Square Pattern
The five black diamonds running across the top of this band are all round and bright cut set. Together, they total 0.10 carats, and their luxurious shine contrasts beautifully with the sandblasted platinum rails running along either side. These rails also sit flush with the tops of the diamonds, keeping them protected from damage while also preventing them from overshadowing the other design elements included in the piece.
The ring itself is 8.5 mm wide. The diamonds are 2.8 mm in diameter, which allows them to fill the space between the rails nicely. The rest of the center section features a pattern of raised squares, which provide a distinctive texture to the piece. These run all the way around the remainder of the band, and they’re one of the main features our client was concerned with perfecting during the design process.
Contrasting Finishes
The square pattern features a brushed finish, while the rails are sandblasted. Both of these finishes create a matte surface, but their slightly different aesthetic creates a subtle contrast within the piece, and this helps to highlight the separation of the different sections.
There is also an organic pattern in black antiquing visible on both ring fronts. This was added by our skilled artisans as the final step in the production of this piece, and it adds character and some contemporary flair to the design as well. Design Your Own Wedding Ring
