Custom Engraving
The main feature of this ring is a detailed snowflake engraving that extends across the entire width of the band at the top. It was a design taken from an inspiration piece the clients provided, and it held special significance for them.
If you’re interested in customizing this ring, one good place to start might be selecting a different symbol or pattern for the engraving. Our experts carry out this type of detailing as the last step in the production process, and we can customize it to reflect just about anything you choose, within the limitations of size.
You may decide to go with a single image, as this couple did, or you might want a repeating pattern to cover more of the ring. Finish and Metal Options
This band is 7mm wide and flat, and it features a brushed finish that helps the engraved pattern stand out that much more. It’s made of 14k palladium white gold, which is an alloy with a more natural silvery color than some other white gold combinations. However, there are plenty of other metal options for you to choose from, including platinum, rose gold, and yellow gold, and any of these will work well with this type of design.
Customizing your ring can also involve adjusting the width of the band, as typical men’s rings range from 6mm to 9mm across. The best way to determine what you prefer in this regard is to try on some rings with different widths to see what’s most comfortable. After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
