This elegant men’s wedding ring features two round diamonds flush set at the top, accented by custom hand engraving and milgrain on the polished platinum band. She had some specific ideas about the ways she’d like to modify her inspiration piece, and we used the information she provided to develop a model of the ring as we proposed to make it. She quickly approved this model, and so we turned her project over to our expert artisans to begin production.
Flush Set Diamonds
There are two round diamonds in this ring, and they’re flush set side-by-side in a small polished section that cuts perpendicularly across the band. Put together, the diamonds total 0.07 carats, and that relatively small size combined with the flush-style setting allows their sparkle to shine through without overwhelming the other design elements present in the piece. Hand Engraving and Milgrain
Aside from the section containing the diamonds, the top surface of the ring is composed of a wider center section, with narrower rails on either side. The rails are smooth and polished, while the center features an organic, scroll-style pattern of custom hand engraving lined with milgrain. The inspiration piece the client provided had engraving on the rails as well as the center section, but she preferred smooth, polished rails instead.Hand Engraving
Customization Options
If you’re looking to customize this design, you may want to consider using rose or yellow gold rather than platinum to add some warmth and contrast. Alternately, you could substitute a different type of gemstone for the diamonds seen here, or you could pick a different pattern for the engraving in the center section.
Using a combination of finishes is an option to consider as well, and this might mean having a brushed or sandblasted finish on the rails to contrast with the polished finish on the engraved section and the brilliant sparkle of the diamonds.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
