Men's Wedding Band Description

This elegant men’s ring features an ivy pattern that runs all the way around the yellow gold band, accented by contrasting finishes. It was created for a client from Bordentown, NJ, who came to us in the hopes of designing a special ring to commemorate the birth of his daughter. We worked with him to develop the precise pattern to be engraved, and we helped him evaluate his options in terms of how best to help the design stand out clearly to produce the look he was after. Engraved Pattern

The top surface of the band is 7mm wide, and it’s mostly covered by a pattern of ivy leaves that is based on samples and drawings supplied by the client. The client specifically wanted ivy leaves, and we worked with him to develop the precise arrangement to produce the look he was after. Hand Engraving

Contrasting Finishes

The engraved leaves are polished, as are the ring fronts. To help the pattern stand out, however, we recommended he add some type of detail or texture to the background and provided some ideas about how best to go about this. The client chose this recommendation from our engraver to add a fine-grain beaded texture to fill in the space between the leaves, and that helps to reinforce the organic overtones of the design while clarifying the shape of the leaves at the same time. Customization Options

To customize a ring like this, you could choose a different pattern for the engraving, or you might decide to mix up the types of finishes used on the various areas of the piece. For instance, a brushed finish would create a different type of matte surface while still providing a contrast to the polished leaves.

Changing the type of metal used for the band is another element to consider, as is adjusting the width of the ring to whatever’s most comfortable for you. You could also experiment with adding a flush set gemstone, either on the inner part of the band or on the top.
