Hand Engraving and Milgrain
The top surface of the band is divided into three sections, with a wider one in the middle and narrow rails on either side of it. The top of the band is very slightly domed so that the rails angle down slightly towards the finger on each side.
The engraved pattern that fills the middle section is in a scroll style, and its elegant swirls have a vaguely organic quality to them. On the rails, a complementary pattern in a wheat style curves outward towards the margins of the ring, providing a nice balance and sense of completeness to the piece.
