Mokume Inlay
The technique used to create the lovely mokume gane inlay in this ring was developed several hundred years ago in Japan. It involves layering different types of metal together, and then forging them in such a way that they combine to create these types of patterns reminiscent of wood grain.
The mokume in this ring is composed of 14k rose gold, palladium, and sterling silver, and it has a matte oxidized silver finish which is what gives the silver areas their dark color. This finish works well with the organic nature of the design to give the ring a classical look and feel. Mokume Gane Jewelry Collection.
Diamond Accents
The platinum rails on both sides of the mokume inlay are bright cut set with over 100 round brilliant cut diamonds. These add some sparkle to the piece, and they contrast nicely with the matte finish on the mokume.
Diamonds are often found in wedding bands thanks to their association with romantic love, purity, and faithfulness. And because most women’s engagement and wedding rings have diamonds in them, including them in the men’s band as well serves as a way to tie the set together.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
