Custom Men's Mokume Wedding Band
Item #101274Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Inlay
The center band of this ring is a mokume gane inlay, which is created using a special technique developed in Japan centuries ago. It involves combining thin sheets of several different types of metal, and then forging them in a particular way to create the kinds of organic patterns seen here.
Because of the nature of the mokume process, no two pieces will every come out exactly the same. However, if you like the design you see here, we can make a ring for you using the same combination of metals and the same process, and you can expect about an 80% match in terms of the pattern.
The mokume in this ring is made from 14k rose gold, 14k palladium white gold, and sterling silver, and it also features a sandblasted finish for a lovely matte effect. There are many other options in terms of the combinations of metals that can be used to create the mokume, and our staff will be happy to show you different examples until you find the one that delivers the look you are after. Contrasting Finishes
The mokume band is bordered by platinum rails on either side, and the separation between the two sections is highlighted by the contrast between the sandblasted mokume and the high polish on the platinum.
You have many other finish options available to you, as well. For instance, you could use a brushed finish on both sections for a more understated look. Or you could opt for a contemporary style and polish the entire ring. Even if you’re not sure how to achieve the type of style you want, our team will show you examples and make suggestions until you are 100% satisfied with the ring we make for you.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
