Custom Mokume Men's Wedding Band
Item #102207Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Center
The center band of this ring is made with a combination of Palladium 14k white gold and sterling silver. These have been blended and forged using the mokume gane technique and then brushed to achieve a matte finish. The mokume gane method was developed in Japan several hundred years ago, and it requires a great deal of skill and precision to execute correctly.
Fortunately, our artisans have a great deal of experience working with these types of pieces, and they are able to create mokume gane jewelry in all styles and with a wide variety of metal combinations. While this ring only uses two metals in the mokume section, it’s possible to use up to four, and there are quite a few different patterns you can choose from as well.
Step Edge Design
Step edge polished palladium rails run along both sides of the mokume section all the way around the band. The step edge design means that the rails are slightly lower than the mokume, and that helps to clearly mark the division between the two sections. It also gives the ring a nice shape with a bit of complexity to it, and the contrasting finishes in the different areas emphasizes this design element as well.
Customization Options
If you like this general design but want to learn how you can put your personal mark on the piece, our experts are here to help. There are many possibilities for customizing a ring like this, including using different metal combinations in the mokume, adjusting the types of finishes used on the various sections, and using a different type of metal for the base. But no matter what you choose or what style you’re going for, our custom design process is built to ensure the piece we make for you is exactly what you’ve always wanted.

Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
