Band Design and Contrasting Finishes
The band of this ring is 8mm wide, and it consists of a raised center section bordered by narrow step rails. The center section is itself divided by notches that appear in pairs at regular intervals all the way around the band, and this creates a series of wider and narrower segments.
The pattern of segments is highlighted through the use of contrasting finishes, with the rails and notches receiving a polished finish and the raised surface of the center section scratched. This helps intensify the contemporary overtones of the ring as well, and you can experiment with different combinations of finishes as part of the custom design process to help produce just the look you’re after. Diamond Accents
The three larger segments running across the top of the band each hold a pair of small, round bright cut set diamonds. All six diamonds in the ring total 0.18 carats, but they stand out despite their small size thanks to the silvery shine of the surrounding metal and the subtle contrast with the scratched finish beyond.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
