Band Design
The center portion of this ring is made of platinum, the bright white color of which creates a subtle contrast with the grayer palladium rails on either side. Both types of metal feature a brushed finish, and they’re separated by deep grooves to further emphasize their separation.
The interior of this ring is slightly curved to create what is known as a comfort fit. This is commonly found in custom fine jewelry, and it’s especially important in a piece like a wedding band that you’re going to wear day in and day out.
On the outside, this piece is also slightly domed in what is known as the half-round style. An alternative to this is a flat band, which would give the ring a more contemporary look and feel. This particular ring is 8mm wide, giving it a nice weight and balance, and ensuring proper proportions for all sections.
Customizing Your Ring
Even a piece as seemingly simple as this one offers many options for customization. For instance, you could change the width of the band if you prefer a wider or narrower ring. Or you could use a different type of finish to subtly alter the style of the piece. Options along these lines include high polish, sandblasted, and hammered.
Another thing to consider is using contrasting finishes to make the distinction between the different metals more clear. This could mean polishing the platinum center while leaving the rails brushed, or it could involve sandblasted rails with a hammered center section. Of course, there are many other options as well, and our experts will be happy to show you as many examples as you’d like until you find one that captures the look you’re after. Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
