Description
This elegant men’s wedding ring features a gear pattern across the top that’s highlighted by black antiquing and framed by parallel grooves that run all the way around the white gold band. It was created for a client from Leonardtown, MD as part of a custom wedding set that also included an engagement ring and women’s wedding ring.

Although the clients lived too far away to ever visit our Bellevue, WA showroom in person, the online workroom we set up to manage their project allowed us to communicate freely back and forth. Black Antiquing
The gear pattern that covers the top of this band is recessed into the metal, as are the two parallel grooves that frame it. Both of these elements are highlighted by black antiquing as well, and the fact that the antiquing sits below the main surface of the ring minimizes the amount it will wear down over time.
The use of black to highlight the pattern is also stylistically appropriate, and it brings a nice contrast to the piece. Both the gear pattern and the antiquing are present in the women’s wedding ring also included in the set, creating a special personal link between the two pieces. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
